MCSW TO HOLD REGIONAL DIALOGUE IN ESSEX COUNTY ON DECEMBER 10TH

PEABODY – Do you have insight into the struggles of women in Essex County? Do you have questions or concerns about issues facing the in your county? The Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women invites you to share your thoughts and concerns at a Regional Dialogue focusing on the women of Essex County and the issues they face, specifically their experiences with and knowledge of domestic violence, teen pregnancy, and pay equity.
The Dialogue will be held on Wednesday, December 10th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Peter A. Torigian Community Life Center (79 Central Street, Peabody). Written and oral testimony will be accepted and should include recommendations for the Commission. Testimony is limited to three minutes in length per speaker. The Commission encourages anyone who wishes to testify or would like to receive more information to e-mail mcsw@state.ma.us.
Formerly referred to as public hearings, the goal of the Regional Dialogues conducted by the MCSW is to gather information from various regions of the Commonwealth and present recommendations to elected officials and legislators. What the MCSW learns from the Dialogue will shape and influence its future work of calling attention to the status of women in Massachusetts.
The Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women is an independent state agency that was legislatively created in 1998 to advance women of the Commonwealth to full equality in all areas of life and to promote their rights and opportunities. The MCSW provides a permanent, effective voice for the women of Massachusetts.

The Massachusetts Conference for Women

The Massachusetts Conference for Women, hosted in conjunction with the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women, is a non-profit, non-partisan, one-day event where Massachusetts women can connect, learn practical and professional strategies from nationally recognized experts, and network with peers.

This year's program promises to be more exciting, more educational and more inspiring than ever with dynamic speakers and panelists who are eager to share their experiences and opinions with participants of all ages, from all across the state. We'll continue our Young Women's Forum for junior and senior high school students, offering a wonderful opportunity for personal development.
