The proud owner and director of
Suzy’s School of Dance in Lynn,
Suzanne Downs has been teaching dance
professionally for 25 years. Her
programs are designed for students to
learn the fundamental skills of dance
while having fun. Each step is carefully
choreographed to help students learn
creative dance techniques, rhythm,
personal discipline, positive self-image and physical wellness.
Downs, a Lynn resident, is a certified member of Dance
Teachers’ Club of Boston, Inc. and has been dancing for 36
years. She taught at Donna’s Dance Studio in Lynn for 20
years before opening her own studio in 2003. She teaches
ballet, tap, jazz and tumbling to students ages 3 to adult.
The mother of two, Downs is also a substitute teacher in the
Lynn Public Schools, a PTO parent and a Girl Scout leader.
She founded Troop 1032 seven years ago and has served on
the Girl Scouts of Spar and Spindle Council.
Prior to launching her own business, Downs worked as an
executive assistant and senior administrative assistant at LCC
Financial Corporation in Lynnfield and Pearson Education in
Reading.
