A former health care administrator, O’Connor is responsible for making sure that Lynn residents are living in well-maintained, healthy, safe properties. In that role, her office is in charge of code enforcement.

As health director, she oversaw the implementation of the city’s ban on smoking in all public places. She also sits on the city’s Chronic Homelessness Steering Committee, the Communities that Care Coalition dealing with substance abuse and prevention programming, and the Wellness Policy Committee dealing with nutrition in Lynn Public Schools.

O’Connor sits on the board of directors of Family and Children’s Services and Project COPE.
