As the city clerk since 2001, Audley has professionalized and updated her department, one of the most important in city government, in many ways. A city employee for 30 years, she has improved online access to forms and used technology to update record-keeping.

For the elderly, the handicapped and those who can’t get to City Hall during business hours, she tries to make it as convenient as possible for them to get birth certificates and death certificates and other important documents.

Audley is the 2007 local chairperson for the American Cancer Society’s annual Relay for Life fundraiser and has participated in the event since 1995, on one of the top fund-raising teams. She also organizes the annual charity softball game between the City Council and City Hall.
